"Maxine helped me to focus on the goals that I wanted to achieve, both in terms of the learning that I was gathering as part of my studies and professionally as there were a number of changes taking place at work which I wanted to navigate successfully. 
From my perspective, I experienced Maxine’s style to be one of warm professionalism, putting me at ease from the start which enabled me to discuss what was going on for me; as well as structured in a way that enabled me as a coachee to feel confident in the direction of our sessions. Maxine came across with an empathetic approach, which worked well for my situation, and was also very good at reflecting back to me during our sessions, some of the things that I’d been saying which enabled me to take a step back, and look at issues with a fresh pair of eyes, and then move forward. 
In particular, there were two main things which I believe Maxine did really well. The first was to coach me through a decision between two job opportunities. She did this by supporting me to fully articulate the pros and cons of both offers and by working through a visualisation exercise which helped me to reach the right outcome. As a result, I decided to take on a role which involved a significant amount of international travel and I used the visualisation exercise to help sustain me through that time. 
The second piece that I really benefitted from was the learning review at the end of the coaching sessions. This was a really effective way for me to take stock of what I’d learnt from my coaching with Maxine, consolidate it and consider how I could continue on my learning journey beyond the sessions. Maxine shared with me some key questions which really provoked my thinking about what I’d been coached on and how I’d shown up during the sessions and how I’d personally taken responsibility for applying my learning.   
I believe that the matching process between coach and coachee is an important part of setting up a coaching relationship and I am really pleased to have had the opportunity to be coached by Maxine last year. I learnt a lot about myself and about the coaching process through our conversations."
